P.L.A.Y.'s Philosophy

Since the 1980's most gyms have focused its "exercising energy" on the king of the gym:

The Treadmill....Endless cardio is NOT going to get you into the best shape you can be.
This should be relieving to all those out there who religiously run the same speed for an hour or so on the treadmill or eliptical. This is a waist of time if it's your only workout...

If you want to get toned, more powerful, and functional, train HARD. Hight Intensity Interval Training also known as HIIT combines cardio and strength training in one short workout. Cardio HIIT training can be defined as low to moderate intervals alternated with high intensity intervals.

Instead of training at one intensity level your entire workout, you are sporadically going from low to moderate to high intensity levels using both aerobic(with O2) and anerobic (w/out O2) respiration. High Intensity Interval Training can be done in less than 20-30 minutes, and has been shown to accelerate the fat burning process for up to 24 hours. You get results quicker and become a functioning unit.

Now, a little insight on eating... Eating is an extremly important detail to focus on when getting lean and toned.
In the words of Micheal Pollen "eat food, not too much, mostly plants". I would like to add "lean animal protein (in moderation)".
Eating processed foods that come in packages are not going to get you where you want to be. Raw nuts, fruits and veggies, leafy greens and a lean protein source is the way to go.
Don't get me wrong, eating the foods of our "culture" and other cultures is ok to indulge in everyone ONCE in a while. Also, keep it simple...eating healthy doesn't mean you have to go on a "diet". You're just deciding to put good feul into your bodies instead of dead feul.

Get creative with your food too. There are many natural herbs and spices that make even the squishest tofu taste unbelievable!
